Description
Posted Breed: Mastiff / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Link to our online Adoption Application! Sighhhh, poor Fendi She's been waiting so long for a home. This 2 yr old Boxer/Mastiff mix has never had a stable home 1 day in her short life! Fendi was forced to spend her 1st year of life in hotel room in literal squalor. Woodbridge Animal Control rescued her and she's been in the shelter ever since. Perhaps she gets no lookers because she acts up in her kennel. Trust us, it is all stress related. This girl is a sweetheart who longs and begs for affection! She's learned her basic commands but will need help from her adopter to be 100% potty trained. The good news is, that's super simple! Fendi needs to be an only pet right now. That may change once she settles into a new home and shakes the shelter life off though. Our incredible volunteers are working with her every day on her leash manners so Fendi would benefit from a strong owner that can continue this training. She's a large girl with lots of love so kids over 12 yrs are preferred . Fendi enjoys Kongs and Nylabones, playing in the yard and occasionally destuffing stuffies! Can you give this girl the loving home she's always deserved?

Breed overview

Overview:
What is known about Bandog history The Bandog or Bandogge was a name first given to dogs of the mid 1200-1300's. Originally not a breed but a term used to describe dogs that were bound during the day often by chain and then set free at night as guard dogs to deter intruders. Originally this dog was made up of various varieties each with a focus on its guardian nature. The natural inclination due to purpose was to select dogs of various mollosser types thus their more eventual standardized look resembling many of the bully breeds today.
