Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). MEET STANLEY!! **Please Note: This is a courtesy post for another rescue; different adoption fees/policy apply. Stanley is a high energy dog who needs lots of exercise to be remotely tired. We adopted him 6 months ago from the shelter with intentions of giving him a forever home but circumstances have changed. He plays very rough with other dogs, some can handle it and some can not. He is extremely fast and tries to bite other dogs' necks, we are not sure if it is playful or aggressive as nothing bad has ever happened. He cries whenever he sees another person, dog, or cat when on a walk and we think he is just very anxious and wants to play with them. He is typically a bad walker/runner on leash and we have never had the opportunity to try him off of leash. He likes to steal shoes or anything he is not allowed to chew on and have you chance him. He really likes all kinds of foods but responds well to being trained with basic kibble and a spray bottle. He knows how to sit and sometimes lay down. He tends to jump up a lot on people and try to puppy bite hands and feet. He gets extra protective around bigger males but eventually warms up to them once they slowly approach them but that is only in the home. He is friendly with most adults when he is not at home. He is a very playful dog who thinks he is a lap dog. He loves to be laying on someone or at least touching someone when he is sleeping. For the most part he is potty trained. He loves stairs and will run up and down them all day if he gets the chance. He has been exposed to a doggy door for a few days and was able to somewhat get how they work after a day or two. He is an affectionate, protective dog that really loves his owners but also likes to be a trouble maker and get attention in any way possible. He has done his fair share of chewing up things but has learned to love his crate and can be happy in there for quite a while.
