| Overview: | The Kuvasz makes a great watch dog, because he is brave and usually suspicious of strangers. Still, he's a great friend and very protective of children. He needs a lot of space for exercise. |

| Character: | Kuvasz dogs are great with children and are very protective of them. They form a strong bond with their owners. |
| Temperament: | This breed is very courageous and intelligent. Because they are so large, they require early socialization and training to get along with other animals. However, they do tend to have a special affinity with children and are very protective of them. |
| Care: | Its coat needs brushing 1 or 2 times weekly, more during heavy shedding periods. It's natural for the Kuvasz to lose most of the coat during hot weather. |
| Training: | This breed requires obedience training and socialization at an early age in order to grow into a well-behaved member of a family. |
| Activity: | The Kuvasz loves long walks or hikes and needs a large fenced yard for frequent exercise. |

| Health Issue: | This breed is prone to hip dysplasia. Some occasional problems are seen with osteochondritis, hypertrophic osteodystrophy, skins problems, and allergic reactions. |
