Description
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees / Mixed (long coat). I'm Snow. I'm about 3 years old and I'm part Great Pyrenees and probably part Golden Retriever too. I was abandoned or maybe I just ran away from a bad home. But I lucked out. I was rescued. And I'm starting to trust again thanks to many caring volunteers. I had a tough start in life and I’m very afraid now. I will need patience and lots of caring attention from people who understand me. A lot of activity and noise makes me very scared so I need a quiet home and a place where I can feel safe. I am most comfortable outside but I need a secure yard because sometimes I just feel like running away. I don’t think I spent much time indoors because everything is so new to me and I’m not sure I belong, but I like to explore. I don’t mind other dogs, but I’m not sure how to act around them. They seem to be ok with me. Maybe if I spend more time getting to know them, we’ll be friends. Cats are fine with me too but I doubt if they would ever like me very much. I’m really a sweet, sensitive little girl who weighs about 75 pounds and really wants to be happy with people and to enjoy doing fun, doggie things. I know I can be a good, loving companion if I’m given the chance. If you think you can open your home and hearts to this beautiful, sweet soul who only wants a quiet, safe place with people who will love and care for her, please contact Snow’s Foster Mom, Diane, 603-525-4192. Please visit our website for more pictures of this dog and info on our adoption process and application which is located on the left column under "forms & applications" : barkdogfarm.rescuegroups Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched Great Pyrenees. They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash. You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries. Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called. A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place. If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid. Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $550 for puppies 12 months and younger. Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized, up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate. Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. Please know we practice Covid-19 guidelines for mask wearing and social distancing. Only approved applicants are allowed to meet our dogs outdoors. Please email barkingdogfrmgmail with any questions.
