Description
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $1 - and donations gratefully accepted. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 2/21/2018 - Lacey was adopted in 2018 but in December of 2020, the family of Lacey's owner contacted us. Their mother could no longer care for Lacey and they were not able to provide a home either. Lacey returned to us 12/30/20. Reason for being in rescue: The first time here, Lacey was found as a stray in NC and landed at a shelter. We placed her (see above) and she returned due to the health of her owner. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Lacey had mammary tumors removed in March 2018 when she was spayed. She had a dental when she came back to us as sadly dental care had been neglected. She lost several teeth. Lacey does not appear to hear well. Like many ladies "of a certain age" Lacey does need to have access to the facilities frequently. There is no physical reason for her frequent bathroom trips, it's just part of who she is (and we ladies understand about older bladders!). Lacey is a senior girl. Her mammary tumors have returned, but given her age and overall condition we do not recommend surgery. Her rear left leg gives her issues and at times she will not use it. She has responded well to pain medicine. Again, given her age any sort of surgical intervention is not recommended. Update 5/10/22 - Lacey has been diagnosed with cancer again. This time we feel it will be terminal. Can someone consider giving this beautiful, sweet and well behaved girl a home of her own for her final days? Weight: 14 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $1 - and donations gratefully accepted Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Lacey is a sweet, quiet girl. She is looking for a quiet home where she can be someone's quiet companion. Lacey will be happy as the only dog in a home or in a house with another quiet dog. She is indifferent to cats. Lacey has never lived with children. Lacey is looking for a quiet home that will offer her end of life comfort and care. We imagine this beautiful girl has quite the bucket list and is eager to live it out! What is my personality like? Lacey is an absolute sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and play. Lacey is more of a couch potato and loves to snuggle in blankets - she can wrap herself up like a burrito! She's great with other dogs but doesn't really play; she prefers to watch everyone else. Lacey isn't real big on basic obedience cues like sit or stay but I think part of this is her hearing. She is very attuned to visual and can see and smell a treat from a long ways off. With a little patience and plenty of attention this little girl is really going to thrive. Lacey would be fine in a house with other animals. Lacey is a quiet girl that sleeps a lot. She is looking for her hospice home. How do I act when I first meet new people? Curious and gentle Other tips and tidbits: Lacey's estimated birthday is 2/24/2009 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
