Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (long coat). MAXX & ME PET RESCUE adoptable dogs Tucker is a 15 month old, fully vetted and chipped Pyr / Lab mix pup who has been bounced from home to home. The inevitable mental trauma of being tossed around is evident by how much he LOVES “HIS” things - his crate, his toys, his food. He is in a foster home with another sizeable pup and adjusting nicely after a few days. Consistent commands, encouragement, and decompression time is all this took! Tucker needs nothing but understanding. He’s a puppy who wasn’t given what he needed until now. He’s learning quickly and he WANTS to please which is a huge step to making this an easy endeavor. Tucker is a SPONGE and learning so much so easily. He knows some basic commands. He is good with cats, kids, and dogs of all sizes. For the sake of his permanency in his next home, we won’t be considering families with small kids because Tucker’s stature is enough to indicate this could be a problem. Kids 8+ sturdy enough to withstand the “Pyr paw” that is such a lovely part of their personality will be ok. Tucker needs a fenced yard - he’s counter height so a 6’ minimum fence will be necessary as he can basically step over a 4’ fence… he also needs another playful dog in his weight range (-ish). Tucker is a LOVE BUG and wants to be touched and encouraged and with his family all the time. He’s learning a crate isn’t a punishment and has learned to walk nicer on leash in the short time we have had him though he DOES pull like a mushing sled dog sometimes. (Say hello to a gentle leader!) Tucker is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Applications for Tucker can be submitted at maxxandme.
