Description
Posted Breed: Cattle Dog. Clef is a truly "funtastic" dog. He has tons of energy, and loves to play and learn new things. He can be a couch potato at times, but definitely prefers to stay busy! He's a smart pup and has had a ton of training. He knows to "sit, "lie down, "stand, "back up, "stay, go to his crate, get his ball, when it's time to "play" and when it's time for "din din". He is eager to learn more of this human language and commands! Clef loves puzzle toys for when you need to focus on something else, especially if those toys are filled with peanut butter! At the end of the day when he's tired, he'll cuddle with you and ask for belly rubs, and reward you with face licks. If you want him to get excited, just say the word "play", and he'll dash over to the door with his tail wagging! Clef loves to chase after squirrels and definitely wishes he had wings so he could chase after birds too. However, most of the time he is content to daydream and watch them through the window. He could possibly live with other dogs but would first need to be introduced to him to see if they would be good fits. We don't have much information about how he is with kids, but he has been observed to be nonchalant towards them during walks. Clef is house-trained and crate-trained, but he's not the type of dog who likes to be left alone for long periods of time because he loves playtime and his people. Clef is such a fun, smart loving dog who would be a great addition to your life!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
