Description
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 225.00. Name: Auggie Breed: Terrier mix Age: 9 months Adoption Fee: $225 Foster Location: Dublin, VA My name is Auggie (Auggie Doggie if you please) and I am a adorable little guy who had the bad luck of finding myself in a local pound when I was found running loose. I was never reclaimed so the rescue decided I should come hang out with them until my new forever family could find me. I'm about 9 months old & I love everybody! I love to play & run in my foster homes big fenced yard. I'm learning my commands (I can sit like a pro) & my housetraining is going great! I have been neutered, fully vaccinated, tested for disease, am current on flea/tick & worming & I've been microchipped. All I need now is a family to love me forever. Please note that Lost Fantasy does NOT adopt out to the first home that applies. We adopt to the home that is the best fit for the animal. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
