Visit any of our Petco and PetSmart adoption centers this weekend or better yet - apply now at .furkids Dog Adoptions Cat Adoptions Arington is a beautiful, inquisitive girl that loves people, dogs, and toys. She enjoys running around the yard at Furkids, chasing balls, chewing on sticks and hopping into the kiddie pool. She is learning to walk on a leash, and loves going out to explore. Arington has done extremely well at adoption events and enjoyed an outing to a local park. When she gets tired out she loves to crawl into your lap or curl up next to you for a nap. Because of her sweet nature and enthusiasm for playtime, Arington is a volunteer favorite! Arington's 7 months old (est. DOB 12/01/2021) and her adoption fee is $305. If you want to know more about Arington, please complete a survey at .shelterluv/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet the dog. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
