Description
Posted Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (short coat). Comet is a five-year-old Cane Corso that we have owned since he was a puppy. He is low maintenance, requires minimal exercise, doesnât chew up or damage furniture, and is trained not to get on the couch or bed. He doesnât jump up when greeting but is excited to see us or to meet new people. Afterward, he tends to stay off by himself and maintains a degree of aloofness. He is an extremely intelligent, willful, and diligent watchdog that stays close to home and is protective of his family & territory. He would be a great dog for a ranch, a household of adults/grown children, or someone looking for security. At 135 lbs, he would not be a fit with a family that has small children or toddlers (which we have two of!) or someone that has trouble being assertive with other dogs. ------------------------------------------------------ If you have a specific question about Comet, then please email newdigsdallaspetsalive. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
